IMPACT OF COVID ON PYT CAMPS & PERFORMANCES

The state of COVID in Chatham county determines performance venue(s), masking, and social distancing followed in camps, rehearsals and performances. PYT will always act to assure campers and everyone at PYT functions are as protected as possible during camp days and performances. We expect that vaccinations will continue to increase mitigating the risk of COVID for campers, staff and their families. Further, we expect that the warmer summer months will lessen the severity of outbreaks in our area.

As of this writing, it is too early to project the state of COVID this summer. We expect COVID will be much better than it has been over the last 2 years. Accordingly, we expect that our mask, vaccination, social distancing and other safety measures will be eased for summer camps. However, PYT's summer camps will have COVID rules in accordance with governmental guidelines and our interpretation of what we think is best of our crew, our campers and show attendees.

We expect that 2022 Summer Campers can expect COVID rules that are similar to Chatham County School District and other such entities in the area.

We will keep our Center for the Arts, Pittsboro facility as clean as possible. Disinfectant will be used to clean all surfaces throughout days. Fresh air ventilation will be increased indoors by opening windows and doors on both ends of our building with a fan blowing air out a middle window. This keeps fresh air circulating throughout our arts campus while people are present.

GET VACCINATED ASAP

PYT Staff will.

WE EXPECT COVID TO BE A REDUCED THREAT IN CHATHAM COUNTY THIS SUMMER

• Weather permitting we'll spending about half of each camp day inside Sweet Bee Theater.

• We'll divide campers into smaller groups in separate rooms often.

• We'll go outside several times a day when it's not raining.

• We keep windows and doors open and use fans and AC for better ventilation.

• We all wear masks all the time we're indoors during regular camp hours.

• With their parent's permission campers can take their mask off or pull it aside when speaking or singing during performances.

• Masks will be worn while backstage whenever possible.

• We'll try to do most singing practice outdoors.

• We'll make an effort to social distance when singing, and while not rehearsing or performing onstage.

• We expect summer performances will be onstage in Sweet Bee Theater.

• Audience numbers allowed will be in accordance with NC and local health dept. guidelines.
